Recent Emergency Gas Leak Repairs in Cambridgeshire

Over the past few weeks, the Allan Plumbing and Heating team has responded to several emergency gas leaks across the region.

A Serious Incident in Cambridgeshire

One of the most potentially hazardous cases occurred at a property in Cambridgeshire, where a new client had accidentally driven nails through a 28mm incoming gas main at multiple points during renovation work.

Fortunately, the homeowner detected the smell of gas early and quickly contacted Cadent, who promptly attended the site and capped the gas supply, preventing any further danger.

Prompt Action and Repair

Once contacted, our team arrived at the property and removed a section of plasterboard to gain access to the damaged pipework. We then located the leaking section of the gas main.

We replaced the affected portion of pipe using soldered fittings in full compliance with current gas safety regulations. After completing the repair, we pressure-tested the pipework to ensure it was secure and safe.

Safety Restored

Finally, we applied gas safety tape to the new section of pipe and ensured the gas meter was safe for regular use once again.
